Donkey Kong Country is a 2-D side-scrolling platform video game developed by Rare, with the character of Donkey Kong. It was released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1994. Sold after an intense marketing campaign, the original SNES version over 8 million copies wordwide, so it is not selling the bundled SNES game of all time. It was the first Donkey Kong game not be produced or directed by Shigeru Miyamoto. Instead, it was produced by Tim Stamper.
The game was on Nintendo’s Virtual Console service on 7 December 2006, rereleased in Australia, 8 December 2006 in Europe and 19 February 2007 in North America.
The object of Donkey Kong Country is to make it through 39 different side-scrolling levels and to recover the banana Kong’s treasure that has been stolen by the Kremlings, too. [1] [2] Each level is unique in theme and consists of different tasks such as swimming, riding in my car, start of race guns, or swinging from vine to wine. However, the player can distribute extra lives by collecting items throughout the levels, including bananas, gold letters to win, in which the KONG, extra life balloons and gold animal tokens, which has lead to bonus levels. The players of Donkey Kong Country, control of one of two characters: Donkey Kong and his nephew, Diddy. The player can switch between characters when they were both on the screen. Donkey Kong is the larger and stronger of the two, and can help to defeat enemies. Diddy Kong is fast and agile, but not as strong [5].
In several levels, players can win the support of various animals that are found by breaking crates. These volunteers are Rambi the rhino, Expresso the ostrich, the Enguarde swordfish, Winky the frog, and Squawks of the Parrot. Each animal can be found in a thematically appropriate level: for example, Enguarde can only be found underwater, and Squawks will be found in caves. The game can be played alone or by two players. In two-player mode, there are two types of game: “Competition” and “Team”. Each level on the map is marked with an icon: unfinished levels by Kremlings (marked in the play of the main enemy), while the warm areas are characterized by members of the Kong family. [7] Each map display has a boss at the end of the course, the travel must be defeated to return to the map of the whole island.
